Now the garden is almost free from snow and the weather’s turned warm the dogs are out loving every minute of their new found freedom. The winter is a hard time for all dogs especially with so much snow so, to be able to run around our big garden at 100 miles per hour is fantastic but then it started me thinking, even though I am here in my office are my dogs safe outside alone?
I think its worrying actually. I have seen in the papers that Pet theft is growing and rising. The most common victims of pet theft are pure breed dogs. Their pedigree as street value which can fetch thousands dollars according to one US newspaper. They are stolen from homes like ours and shipped to puppy mills to be used for breeding, OMG the thought fills me with fear.
4 years in a row figures of Pet theft are rising this is according to the Blue Cross Pet Charity who gained this information from the UK Police and surprisingly these Dogs have not been taken from public places but actually from their own homes. Terrible, terrible news so, make sure you know where your dog is at all times.
